Smokey Diamond

Something elegant and new, but with an old sophistication. This piece has an "old world" feel to it, something ancient I suppose. This is one of two pieces I made with this inspiration. This necklace is the larger and more intricate version of the two. I started with a diamond shape frame and simply decorated it by coiling, twisting and wrapping sterling silver wire. A symmetry of semi-precious stones and tribal silver beads enhance its appeal. A princess cut prasiolite, also known as green amethyst, draws you into its brilliant shine of soft, sage green. This high quality stone is surrounded by smokey quartz faceted oval stones and fresh water pearls. A 15x20mm flat, faceted pear of dark smokey quartz finishes off this dramatic piece with accents of swirling silver wire and drops of more prasiolite and smokey quartz beads. The entire center piece measures 40mm wide (over 1 1/2") and 72mm long (just under 3")and hangs from a double, sterling silver, oxidized chain that measures 19" adjustable to 21".
